What stands out about John is pure HEART!

I found John on the internet when I got interested in the EXCA. I didn't know if he was worth my time but he was close so off I went for a lesson. What I found was a man with the talent to train me, a cheerleader to make me give it a try, and a heart filled with love for good horses and good people. Like a good horse, John has the temperament to do his job exceedingly well. And like a race horse, John doesn't know how to stop, he will work as long and hard as it takes to get the job done. And always with that big SMILE that we all know so well, he greets us all with that, every time we meet. Even non "Horse" people could learn many life lessons from John, he has his priorities right. I could not imagine a better Ambassador or Promoter, John has that covered with his positive attitude, it's always "yes, yes, yes!" that you hear from John about the EXCA, good horses & good riders. John has done more for this sport than anyone I know.

John has my vote!

John has my vote! The absolute best investments of time and money to further my horsemanship and train my horse have been at John's clinics. Under his instruction I have regained so much lost confidence...priceless.

I have had the pleasure of attending a couple of John Black's ECR clinics. He is engaging, humorous, informative, knowledgeable and supportive of everyone's goal and ambitious. He deserves being inducted into the Hall of Fame for being an outstanding Representative, Ambassador and Promoter of the sport and good horsemanship.

I have been a member of the EXCA for 2 yrs and John Black has been a part of my experience since day one! He has been helping the sport grow since the beginning and whenever I have a chance to speak to him I am impressed with his knowledge of the EXCA and horses in general. I run in the novice division and I can attest "he does his best to help EVERYONE become better racers" and is available to answer questions!

John is one of the best judges I have ever ridden under. He always judges fairly, and he is always open and available to talk with you any time after the race. So many judges make you feel uncomfortable to even look at them, but John makes you feel so comfortable and keeps the sport professional and fun at the same time. I'd go out of my way to ride in a show/race he's judging, even if it meant driving several hours. He is a true positive figure in this new sport of ours and a great advocate for all riders, whether they be top pro or the underdog, he treats everyone with the same respect.

Over the last two years everywhere I go for a horse event it seems John is there. When he isn't a judge at an event you can bet he is there watching and encouraging people. John has been a great ambassador for this sport. I ride in the novice class and every race John tells us find me after the race if you have questions about how your run was. If the field is small he practically will put on a clinic helping the competitors understand where they could pick up more points. If John doesn't belong in the hall of fame I don't know who does?

I would like to add my vote for John Black. Being new to EXCA and CCR I have had the opportunity to have John judge me at two events and I have to say I have been very impressed with his professionalism and great attitude. He has been a great help and I feel truely blessed to know him and be a part of this great sport.

I am new to the EXCA this year. And meeting John has truly been a rewarding experience, He takes the time after the race to discuss your horsemanship, your strength's and your weakness's, He keeps me coming back.. He is a Real Cowboy in th true sense, of Honor, the Golden rule and his understanding of Horses, and riders of all levels.

Please add my support to nominating John Black to the EXCA Hall of Fame.

I have had several opportunities to produce events, judge events, and travel with John over the last two years and have gotten to know a person who has been willing to support the EXCA in ways no one else has. John is a true ambassador for the organization and goes well beyond just being a National Adviser. He is an arbitrator, mediator, supporter, and advocate for the EXCA. His continued donation of time and resources to build the EXCA often requires traveling long distances at his own expense & using his unique skills to help build young organizations within the region.

John's unwavering support in organizational development, horsemanship, and judging are contributions that should be recognized.

John has been not just a great representative of the EXCA and Craig Cameron, but THE representative as far as I am concerned. He has promoted the association as well as Craig Cameron's theories and techniques wholeheartedly for as long as I have known him and been involved with Cowboy Racing. He is the go-to when it comes to judging, and he is ALWAYS willing to help and support the association. He IS the Best Ambassador of the Sport, hands down, and as far as I am concerned should be a SHOE IN for the Hall of Fame.

John Black not only deserves this award, he should be honored as one of the best mentors in the business. He is a great cowboy and is always there to give a lending hand. As a L3 judge, I call John whenever I need a question answered or help in anyway. He drops everything to give a helping hand. John definitely deserves this award.
